Daily Cycle September 1st

Weather - gusty with dark rain clouds, but most of journey enjoyed bouts of bright, hot sunshine. Wildlife - not much; one or two drowsy Red Admirals, the last butterfly of summer.

Bad weather brewing in from the West, overlooking wheat fields. Later it stormed, with heavy downpours and thunder.
High point - The warm winds buffeting the trees.

Low point - running over a large yellow and black striped dragonfly; it was already dead, but I felt terrible all the same.

  1. Agh. The cringe of shame as one runs over an already dead creature. As a family friend described it, "I feel like I'm killing it all over again."

  2. That family friend had it right on the nail, Sooz!
