Buzzard

This morning I took two friends out for a walk down the tracks, into the woods and over the fields. It's always enjoyable showing off your pet patches. We were so busy talking that for once I barely took any pictures. On the way home, we passed a superb buzzard who was so fixated on whatever it was looking at, that we managed to crawl the car to within a few metres of it.
Barely able to breath with excitement, I got just two good, high quality images before it realised we were there and lazily soared away into the cold, blue sky.

  1. You lucky thing! I have not managed to get that close to the ones down Pinkhill lane. I am envious.

  3. Gosh, unless life tosses me a complete surprise, those are the closest buzzard close ups that I will ever see.

Many thanks for keeping the camera steady.

It's fun to see this very new year fill with new sights. xo

  5. Fantastic photo's, you must have been pretty quick. We have a lot of buzzards here too, but I've never seen them so close.

  7. In the US we call this bird a hawk. Our buzzards are big, ugly birds with large beaks and a floppy red wattle. I enjoy your walks and hope one day to visit the Cotswold area.
